/Communications - publicizing exhibitions & lectures
In order to most effectively publicize your event or exhibition, the following information should be sent to Michael Holte, mholte@usc.edu, at least two weeks prior to your event.
DOWNLOAD Templates for postcard announcement / invitation and lecture series flyer are available in Adobe Illusrator format.
TEXT Complete info about the show, project, visiting artist, or event need to be sent along with the logistical data: date, time, place, opening hours, opening reception date/time, etc.
Exhibitions - send a paragraph about the artist and/or the concept behind the work or installation, or about the curatorial perspective, for example, from which the show was organized (if it is a curated exhibition).
Visiting Artist Lecture Series or any other guest speaker - send a short paragraph about the visiting artist or lecturer and info on what they / what they will be addressing. (This should be more than a list of where their work has been shown) Be sure to call out when they have a related exhibition in town on view.
IMAGES Image(s) should be sent as .jpg s in the following pixel formats:
For website purposes: 1) 1024 pixels wide x whatever pixels high [SOFA website requirement] 2) Exactly 233 pixels wide x 95 pixels high [*USC Calendar requirement] 3) 150 pixels wide x whatever high. [*USC Calendar requirement]
For print purposes: 4) image roughly 4" x 6"- 5" x 7", and roughly 300 dpi.
Save jpg files with the following naming convention: name_width size.jpg.
i.e. weisberg_1024.jpg labelle_233.jpg hickey_150.jpg
Please be sure to include complete caption information.
Artist, Title, date, Medium, Dimensions (note inches or feet), photo credit.

USC CALENDAR - http://www.usc.edu/calendar/ The USC Calendar serves as a feeder to other University publications such as the Chronicle and Daily Trojan and also the USC academic Events calendar.
* Please note: In order to list an exhibition on the USC Calendar we must have an image that meets the aforementioned image requirements. Similarly, to best publicize an event or lecture we need images in the three formats listed above.
