Rebecca Ansert, MPAS 2008
Charleston, SC

Undergraduate Studies:
BA in Studio Art with a concentration in Arts Management from the College of Charleston. Before moving to California, Rebecca worked as a gallery director at Coleman Fine Art. She has worked closely with the Charleston Fine Art Dealer's Association, College of Charleston Young Alumni, College of Charleston Friends of the Arts, Spoleto Festival USA, and Halsey-McCallum Studio.
While at USC: During Rebecca's first year she worked for the Grants Program with the City of Los Angeles, Department of Cultural Affairs, and was the stage manager for the first annual Look Hear week long art and music festival, and was an intern for the Community Redevelopment Agency of Los Angeles.
Rebecca has received a George and Marion Blumenthal Scholarship and was a course reader for FA 150 during the Spring 2007 term. Recently, Rebecca spent 2 1/ 2 months working for Urban Art Projects in Brisbane, Australia and was assigned to international projects such as the China World Trade Center, Beijing and JAUST, Saudi Arabia. Currently, she continues to consult for Urban Art Projects and intern for the Community Redevelopment Agency of Los Angeles. Rebecca also received a Director's Award in 2007 and will be a course reader for FA 150 during the Spring 2008 term.
After Graduation: Rebecca plans to continue her work as a consultant for Urban Art Projects International Contracts.

Tiffany Barber, MPAS 2008
New York, NY

Undergraduate Studies: BFA in Dance Performance with a minor in urban studies from Fordham University. Tiffany participated in student leadership in college, was a full-time intern at NYC hedge fund, served as program manager for the Columbia Law School Center for Korean Legal Studies, and volunteered with various youth organizations.
While at USC:  Tiffany received a 2006/07 George and Marion Blumenthal Scholarship. She works in Student Affairs at Loyola Marymount University and as a freelance editor and writer.
After Graduation: Tiffany plans to work with public art in urban environments.

Amanda Bromberg,
MPAS/MPL 2008
Los Angeles, CA

Undergraduate Studies: BS in Telecommunications with a minor in business from Penn State University. Amanda trained as a pre-professional dancer until college, and worked on a promotional video for dance and the State of Pennsylvania while in college. She has spent the past three years working in the film industry and volunteering at the Los Angeles Free Clinic.
While at USC: Amanda is currently working for Community Arts Resources in Los Angeles as a project manager for a redevelopment project in south Los Angeles. She is also working for the Community Development Department of the City of Henderson, Nevada. Furthermore, she is conducting research for the Cultural Arts Department at the Community Redevelopment Agency of Los Angeles.
After Graduation: Amanda plans to combine her knowledge of the arts and community development to open avenues of accessibility in both small communities and large urban areas.

Sarah Cohen, MPAS 2009
South Florida

Undergraduate Studies: BA in English - creative writing with a minor in Women's Studies. Sarah was the founder of R-LEED (Real Life Education for Eating Disorders) public school program; she also worked as a Language Arts teaher wher she worked as the school advisor for the Human Relations Council and the Equestrian Club. Sarah directed public art projects in her school in relation to non-profit organizations. Most recently Sarah directed the "Feel Comfortable in Your Jeans" campaign where students painted old pairs of jeans with positive ideas about body image, which were then displayed throughout the hallways.
After Graduation: Sarah plans to work as a curator within the non-profit realm, hopefully with a focus in women's issues.

Compton, CA

Undergraduate Studies: BA in Theatre Directing and Performance from California State University, Long Beach. She has served as treasurer and secretary of the CSULB Student Movement for Theatre and the Arts, the president and founder of Environmental Junkies at Compton High School, a student docent at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, co-chair of MEChA, a financial aid peer advisor with the CSULB Equal Opportunity Program, and the director and playwright of many one-acts.
While at USC: Xiomara has been awarded Compton City Leader of the Year and has received the Yoshiyama Award for exemplary services to the community for the State of California.
After Graduation: Xiomara plans to establish a non-profit performaing arts center. She is also interested in developing international theater workshops for children in low income communities throughout Latin America.


Sara Daleiden, MPAS 2008
Los Angeles, CA

Undergraduate Studies: BA in Art Studio with a concentration in sculpture from Notre Dame. Post-Baccalaureate studies in sculpture, communication design and interior architecture from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design.
While at USC:
Sara freelances as an artist, curator and administrator who focuses on viewer experience through the creation of installations, identity systems and interventions within the city. She is a core member of the collective Los Angeles Urban Rangers, which offers site-specific, interpretive services such as for "Interstate: The American Road Trip" held at High Desert Test Sites and Socrates Sculpture Park, which was chosen by Miwon Kwon for the Americans for the Arts 2007 Public Art in Review. Sara has worked as the Senior Programs Coordinator at the MAK Center for Art and Architecture at the Schindler House, as a Production Coordinator for Suzanne Layc with her project at the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Communications Coordinator for Cliff Garten Studios, and the Continuing Education Coordinator for the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. Sara has received a Majestic and Director's Awards along with a Teaching Assistantship.
After Graduation: Sara will work as consultant for experimental public art projects. She is particularly interested in works that utilize art as a vehicle for urban planning and bring art into everyday city spaces.

Undergraduate Studies: BA in History from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Liz has worked for the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, Sotheby's and The Kor Group.
While at USC: Liz works at a fine arts and antiques gallery and participated in the first annual Look Hear art and music festival.
After Graduation: Liz would like to work in arts administration.

Nicole Gordillo, MPAS 2008
Venice Beach, CA

Undergraduate studies: BFA in Theatre (Acting) from USC. Nicole has taken summer theatre workshops at the University of Miami and Northwestern University. She has also studied at the British-American Dramatic Academy in London. Nicole was one of the beginning members of Theatre Junkies, a community of actors and artists dedicated to providing an arena for creative expression. She has directed, produced and performed in several different theatre/art productions.
While at USC: Nicole works as a professional development assistant at Inner City Arts, a non-profit art center for children in downtown Los Angeles. She has been awarded a George and Marion Blumenthal Scholarship for the 2006/07 academic year.
After graduation: Nicole would like to work with or develop an art center that serves as a catalyst for creative expression through active engagement with artists and their work.


Claire Haasl, MPAS 2008
Chicago, IL

Undergraduate studies: BA in Art History from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Claire worked for Sedgwick Properties, a residential development company and volunteered at Galleria Suya in Chicago.
While at USC: Claire is working with public art consultant Lesley Elwood on relocating artist Mark Lere's sculptures, Untitled Four, from the Staples Center to the USC campus. She is currenlty completing an internship with the Chicago Public Art Program, and has received a director's award for the upcoming year.
After graduation: Claire would like to continue her work with Elwood & Associates and eventually move back to the Midwest to pen a public art consulting firm.

Erin Harkey, MPAS/MPL 2008
Los Angeles, CA

Undergraduate studies: BBA in Marketing from Howard University. She has worked in membership and marketing at the District of Columbia Arts Center (Washington, D.C.) and the Japanese American National Museum. She has been a community liason with Southbay Entertainment Group and volunteered at MOCA.
While at USC: Erin is currently working as a donor relations coordinator for the
Los Angeles Music Center.
After graduation: Erin is interested in working with a private planning or architectural firm, or working in exhibition and public programming with a cultural arts institution.

Undergraduate Studies: BA in Art History with a minor Business Administration from the University of Central Arkansas. While at UCA Rebecca was the Treasurer of the Art History Association. She also planned, designed, and implemented a public art project in Conway, Arkansas at a local park called the Tucker Creek Walking Trail.
After Graduation: Rebecca is interested in working with a community or city directing public art programs.

Undergraduate Studies: BA in Art History and BJ in Journalism Strategic Communications from Mizzo. When Liz was a student at Mizzo she had an internship at the Des Moines Art Center, Des Moines Metro Opera, and Meredith Publishing.
While as USC: Liz was awarded the Blumethal Scholarship.
After Graduation: Liz would love to do arts administration in a museum.

Undergraduate Studies: BFA with an emphasis in Photography and Bachelor of Industrial Arts with an emphasis in visual communication. Sarah was a participate and an artist in Art & Architecture Infinite a temporary Public Art installation in Brisbane, Australia.
While at USC: Sarah recieved the George & Marion Blumenthal Scholarship.
After Graduation: Sarah plans to return to the Bay area and work with a city based art commissions in trying to create a better bridge between the communities and Public Art.

Tania Picasso, MPAS 2008
New York City, NY

Undergraduate studies: BA in Art History and Film Studies with a minor in Spanish from UC Santa Barbara. Tania has worked as a market research associate for ARTNET and as a volunteer docent at the UC Santa Barbara University Art Museum and at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art.
After graduation: Tania would like to become a public educator who specifically addresses the needs of underrepresented groups.

Undergraduate Studies: BA in Anthropology and Art History with a minor in museum studies from Beloit College. Alice interned at the Gershman Y galleries in Philadelphia and the educational outreach program with WBEZ Chicago Public Radio. Before attending USC Alice worked in the development department at the Economic Policy Institute in Washington, DC.
While at USC: Alice has been awarded a George and Marion Blumenthal Scholarship for the 2006/07 academic year.
After graduation: Alice plans to work with funding community arts programs.

Lauren Walser, MPAS 2009

Undergraduate Studies: B.A. in Art History and Sociology from USC, 2006. Lauren currently works at USC in the Public Relations department and is a freelance writer and editor. She volunteers with 826LA, a non-profit organization supporting the writing skills of k-12 students.
While at USC: Lauren has been awarded a George and Marion Blumenthal Scholarship for the 2007-08 academic year.
After Graduation: Lauren would like to work either with a city's cultural affairs department or with a non-profit arts education program while moonlighting as a fiction writer.

Previous Studies: BA in History of Art and Visual Culture from UC Santa Cruz. Sarah has interned at SFMOMA, was a Family Art Saturdays volunteer at MAH and served on teh Kresge College/UCSC Arts Committee.
While at USC: Sarah has been awarded a George and Marion Blumenthal Research Scholarchip for the 2006/07 academic year and was a course reader for FA 150 during the the Fall 2006 term.
After Graduation: Sarah plans to work for a museum or public organization.

Susan Bell Yank, MPAS 2009
Los Angeles, CA

Undergraduate Studies & Experience: BA in Visual and Environmental Studies from Harvard University and received a Teaching Credential from CSULA. Summa Cum Laude on Painting Thesis, series of 8 large scale figurative work and video. Senior Art Award, 2003.
Susan joined Teach For America and taught 4th-6th graders in teh public schools of Los Angeles from 2003-2007. There she began a series of arts initiatives, including mural painting and an after school "Masters of Arts," club in which students studied a variety of artists. She also created a "Bully Prevention Through the Arts," curriculum, funded by a grant from the Jordan Fundamentals Program.
After Graduation: Susan plans to continue to work in community arts in an effort to bring quality art and arts education to underprivileged communities in Los Angeles.
